Tommy didn't even cry today when nurse Erin accessed his port, he just shot her a mean look! That's progress!
Tommy has been doing great and hitting his benchmarks exactly as the docs have planned. He even started back in school last week! We still have chemo treatments to complete and a cat scan 11/21. Dr.
We are very happy to report that Tommy came through his surgery very well. Dr. Shamberger was successful in removing the tumor and the spread down the vena cava as well as any questionable lymph-nodes. Dr. Mohamed, the anesthesiologist, said it took a team to be successful and Tommy was the Captain! His heart was very strong, like a Lion.
Thank you for your continued support of Tommy and our family. Tomorrow we are going to Children's for a cat scan before the surgery scheduled for the 15th. We are hoping that the chemotherapy has had the desired effect on the tumor, the cancer in the lungs as well as down the vena cava. Please keep praying.
Tommy's cat scan showed that although the tumor's size hasn't changed much the surgical and onconology teams agree that the dexterity has changed from a solid tumor to a liquid form. The scan also showed the nodules in the lungs have either disappeared or shrunk significantly, and the spread to the vena cava also looks good.
Tommy K was doing his Hulk muscles this morning prepping for his cat-scan. Today will be the first time we had imaging done since we started chemotherapy. Tommy said on the ride over he's "gonna kick this lumps butt and get it out of his belly!" And the "germs in Papa Jack's back"...(Click the title to read the entire message)

We want to let you know that Tommy had a great week! He has a long road ahead but is a tough little boy and will come through this with increased strength and resilience. We would like to thank you for all of your prayers and support. Eddie and Katy remain completely focused on Maggie’s and Tommy’s well-being and on...(Click the title to read the entire message)

Eddie, Katy, and the entire Kelly/Delaney Clan are so thankful for the love and support they feel all around them. Today was a tough day, it didn't go perfect, but we did get a positive outlook. The most important thing is Tommy is recovering excellently in the surgical ICU, under Jay Hartford, the charge nurse, who I've known for 30 years. The simple version is initial pathology results show its a favorable Wilms tumor, but wont be confirmed until next week....(Click the title to read the entire message)
