MESSAGE FROM THE KELLY FAMILY 11/11/14 Nov 11, 2014 Tommy didn't even cry today when nurse Erin accessed his port, he just shot her a mean look! That's progress! Tommy has been doing great and hitting his benchmarks exactly as the docs have planned. He even started back in school last week! We still have chemo treatments to complete and a cat scan 11/21. Dr. MESSAGE FROM THE KELLY FAMILY 9/15/14 Sep 15, 2014 Hello everybody, We are very happy to report that Tommy came through his surgery very well. Dr. Shamberger was successful in removing the tumor and the spread down the vena cava as well as any questionable lymph-nodes. Dr. Mohamed, the anesthesiologist, said it took a team to be successful and Tommy was the Captain! His heart was very strong, like a Lion. Tomorrow we are going to Children's for a cat scan before the surgery scheduled for the 15th. MESSAGE FROM THE KELLY FAMILY 7/29/14 Jul 29, 2014 Hello Everybody, Tommy's cat scan showed that although the tumor's size hasn't changed much the surgical and onconology teams agree that the dexterity has changed from a solid tumor to a liquid form. The scan also showed the nodules in the lungs have either disappeared or shrunk significantly, and the spread to the vena cava also looks good.
